Reported speech y questions

REPORTED SPEECH

FUNCIÓN:
Utilizamos "reported speech" para repetir lo que alguien dijo sin usar sus palabras exactas.

FORMA:
En "reported speech"  no se usa comillas (""). Cuando usamos un verbo en tiempo pasado para introducir el habla indirecta, por ejemplo, dijimos o dijimos que cambiamos el tiempo verbal en el "reported speech". En el "reported speech", cambiamos otras palabras que la persona dijo, por ejemplo, pronombres, tiempo y expresiones de lugares.

NOTA: Se debe tener cuidado con los "object pronouns" ya que nunca irán con “said”. Ejemplo:

1.- Completa las frases del "reported speech", con el pronombre correcto, la expresión de tiempo / lugar y con las reglas correspondientes.

“I´m going to the park tomorrow”. 
She said ____ was going to the park _____________________. 

“Mark, I can help you with your homework today”. 
  Maria told Mark that she could help ____ with ____ homework _____________. 

“Trisha and Martin went to the movies last Saturday”. 
  He told me ____ had gone to the movies ____________. 

“Danielle, you will start a new class netx week”. 
  He told ____ she would start a new class _______________. 

2.- Reescribe estas oraciones como "reported speech".
“I shop online every week” 
He said ______________________. 

“Lisa, we´ll drive you to the supermarket.” 
They said _______________________________. 

“We´re not going on vacation this year”. 
David and Maya said ________________________. 

“Sam´s sister told me she date tonight”.

REPORTED QUESTIONS

FUNCIÓN:
Usamos "reported questions" para informar lo que alguien hizo sin usar exactamente las mismas palabras.

FORMA:

Podemos informar preguntas utilizando asked/wanted para. Usamos if/whether para reportar una pregunta yes/no. Tenemos que cambiar el tiempo en "reported questions" de la misma manera que "reported speech".

EJEMPLOS:

What do you like doing in your free time?                                                               She asked him what he liked doing in his free time.

Which school does your son go to?                                                                               I asked her which school her son went to. 

Where did you go on holiday last year?                                                                    He asked us where we went on holiday last year.

Are they from here?                                                                                                     We asked her whether/if they were from here.

Can you swim?                                                                                                              He asked me if I could swim.
